Nokia Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace on the Lumia 900 is now being branded with Nokia's own logo. The minor change does not alter the functionality of the Marketplace, but it's one of the first signs of Nokia's influence on the Windows Phone operating system. Nokia 808 PureView US launch confirmed by Nokia
Nokia Nokia US President Chris Weber himself confirmed to PCMag.com that the 808 will indeed be launched in North America in the next couple of months. The 808 PureView won't be available through any of the carrier but will be sold unlocked and will be compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T.

Nokia responds to class action lawsuit from investor
Nokia Nokia is under scrutiny from its investors who are concerned that the Finnish company is not turning things around fast enough with Windows Phone. One investor, Robert Chmielinski, is so fed up that he filed a class action lawsuit against the company in US District Court in New York. Not surprisingly, Nokia denies the allegations that it misled investors with Windows Phone and says it is on the right track.

No DVD playback for Windows 8
Microsoft The only way to watch DVDs on Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows 8, will be through purchasing Media Center or other third-party software.

The absence of any native DVD player was announced on Microsoft’s official Building Windows 8 blog, which said the bizarre decision was due to a “sharp decline” in the number of people who use their computer to watch DVDs.
